Bought the BNF and bound it to my DX6i. First flight 6" off ground and straight back into couch. Broken blade. Second flight 2 feet off ground, hover for 2 seconds and straight left into wall. Broken blade and broken lower gear. Third flight. 5 seconds of hover and wild gyrating. Cutoff throttle. Bent stabilizer. No more flights as I have no more spare parts at the moment. Then added lights look nice though.
(one week later) Ok... I bought a used one of these off my friend and was amazed! The thing flys like a dream! I've been buzzing the backyard on calm mornings for few days, and I'm having great fun! The blades are kind of brittle, but the replacements are cheap.
Don't know what was wrong with the first one, but I suspect either a bad gyro or bent shafts. I'll try rebuilding it, I guess.

I have several crashes with this heli. broken most of the main rotor assemblies at least once. I wanted to move up from the blade mcx into a larger heli. It is too large for inside my house and too easy to have it blown around outside by a breeze. It is well made just not what I expected. I have practiced on the flight sim.

This is a very fun chopper to fly. I previously owned the Blade CX 2, and had such a wonderful time with it that I wanted to try out the CX 3, MD 520N. Its a blast. With the built in heading-hold gyro, this helicopter is really responsive and stable. I was astonished from the first flight. It handles much like the CX 2, only smoother. The really cool thing was being able to bind it with my Spektrum LP5DSM transmitter from the CX 2, saving me about 30 dollars from buying the RTF version. In essence, the CX 3 is more of an upgraded CX 2, with an awesome scale fuselage and better handling. I would recommend it to any newcomer in the RC helicopter hobby, as well as to novice and advanced pilots who want a fun mini electric to fly indoors when the weather is bad.
