Some motors arrived with a lot of friction - check yours to make sure all of the props spin freely. Customer service was helpful.
It's fun while it lasts, even if it comes with issues. Loads of fun. Great intro to quadcopters; I just wish it has lasted longer.
Performance was iffy from the start, way worse after 1-2 hours playing with it.
Read online BEFORE YOU START and (maybe) yours will last longer:
(a) You need to read about the calibration step or your copter won't fly level at all. (Very briefly: expert mode, left stick to the lower right, wiggle right stick left/right until eyes flash.)
(b) I made a screw-leveled platform to balance the power with the issues with the motors (I think). It flew level after I calibrated it.
(c) Slices of straws to prevent motor shaft from smashing into bottom plastic cover of motor if there is a crash upside down.
(d) Order extra blades. 1-2 packages

Amazing Little Flier

It flew out of the box but I had problems initially getting it trimmed. I tried to use the transmitter aileron and elevator trim controls to neutralize control input, but that caused it to zoom off in random directions when I tried to rotate it via the rudder control. Once I found out about calibrating the accelerometers, I was able to center the trims and everything went smoothly from then on. It's pretty rugged and a few minor crashes resulted in no damage.
The Hubsan is somewhere between a very benign counter rotating rotor micro helicopter that is extremely stable but slow and not maneuverable, and a normal single rotor micro helicopter that is fast but not very stable. It combines the best of both of these. It's fast and agile enough to fly outdoors in moderate wind, and stable enough to make it easy to control. In windy conditions I find it easier to fly in "expert" mode because of faster response.
Overall, it's a great little device. You won't be disappointed.
