E-Flite Blade MCX Micro Coaxial Ultra Micro Heli
October 6, 2012

This thing was awesome at first, worked just as advertised but after a couple of tumbles it wants to go backwards when hovering. I have to give it full forward to keep it from running back. Not the birds fault as it worked fine at first.

Blade MCX Heli

The MCX is way cool! I flew RC airplanes years ago, and then got out of it. I told a buddy of mine who's still into it, I want to fly again. He suggested the MCX. Perfect advice. Great fun - the thrill of flying is back.
I agree with the comments below, breaking things on the copter. For me, an old fart, it's hard to see the parts I'm trying to replace. But I'm getting the hang of it. When I hit something with it. it's entirely my own fault, having never flown a copter before this one. This is a great flying mosquito. As opposed to an airplane, it's almost like 6 things are going on at the same time instead of 4. A brain game indoors. What fun! No need to load up and go to the field to fly.
And cudos to Red Rocket - a great outlet for the copter and the parts. Thumbs up!

I have not flown any helis in my life!. I want to get into helis as I had when walking out back in the day with an electric car.Do to nothing about easy for flying any heli. Then was why now days completely different with both sims and afew other helis like this. However it was only this Blade a local hobby shop told me to first buy. Then after asking how long before I was at all able to fly even this one.He said, as fast as this.Give it a try,as he explained what the controls do.Then showed me as he flew it.Then handed the controller to me.I was amazed! As I had it up flying and stable is the word for this great flying unlike no other out there! For anyone who never has flown try this for a winner. If it gets any better it does at red rocket for there nice price. When you can get this for less to your door than I can out the door from the local shop nearby.Randy Garrity

What a neat little hilo!

What a joy this little machine is. The basics of aerodynamics using the two joysticks involves some trial and error though. The controls are fairly sensitive. One of the obstacles I had to overcome was the left joystick, which controls throttle (up/down), and rudder (pivots the nose of the hilo about its axis). When adjusting the rudder, the throttle typically gets nudged too, in which case, you're tempted to overcompensate. There are two sensitivity settings for the controls - the default setting is the more sensitive one. Press the right joystick (controls ailerons and elevators) until it clicks to revert to the less sensitive setting. When using this setting, movements are more gradual. The minor issues with the Blade-mcx are: (1) I would stock up on replacement parts, and (2) get two extra batteries, and an extra charger. The batteries are good for ~10 minutes of flight, and it takes 30-40 minutes to charge one of them.

Great fun!

A fun little helicopter. Easy to fly. The top clevis on the inner shaft is a bit weak and breaks very easily in crashes. Otherwise it is very crash-worthy. My 11 year old son loves it!

Very well balanced. Ready to fly right out of the box, for real! Seems very durable, the only part that breaks is the flybar attachment on the upper rotors. It has to be some pretty heavy carnage to snap that plastic bit off though.
Landing on a cd case is not a problem, it's almost a joke. Right now I am practicing nose-in manuevers that I can transfer over to it's big brother the cx2.
The mCX is not very fast, as you will see if you take it outside. Even a breath of wind will send the heli away to the waiting jaws of your neighbors dog.
