Bottom line… There is absolutely no reason that you cant successfully learn on a higher performance machine and have a lot of fun doing it (so many of us have) if you have it set up properly. However, if you dont tame this high performance bird down, you will almost certainly over control it and crash; perhaps even give up all together with the costs and frustrations involved in crash repairs.
Chapter 8 Performance Tips… If you upgrade the servos however, especially all 4 to stronger digitals, there is a very real risk the ESC will go into thermal shut down mode or worse burn out completely with the increased load put on the built in BEC and resulting heat that is generated.
