New Updated Version!

The highest costs and frustrations beginners face with good quality collective pitch RC helicopters result from crashing. This stems directly by not having the helicopter setup for learning on - that is the real issue.

This RC helicopter e-book pays for itself many times over by showing you exactly how to turn a high performance 400 size heli into a docile trainer plus many more tips and advice.

The settings, tips, and advice actually work on many sizes of RC helicopters. Physics and procedures are pretty much the same for any good single rotor collective pitch hobby grade machine regardless of size, power plant, or manufacturer.

Excerpts from RC helicopter tips e-Book...

Chapter 1 Introduction... As I just stated, this RC helicopter tips e-guide is exactly that – a guide to give you all the settings to turn your RC helicopter into the perfect trainer and provide useful and helpful RC helicopter tips to get the most out of your RC helicopter. Basically, answers and advice to give you the single most important tool to succeed with RC helicopters – information!

Chapter 7 Repairs... I obviously can’t go over every possible repair scenario, but I will touch on some common items that may be overlooked or misunderstood during the repair process. After some experience and know how, you will be able to do just as good a job as the factory did while putting things back together. If fact, once you gain a little experience and commit some time to do things right, I guarantee you will have a better assembled and balanced helicopter than when it came out of the box brand new.

Chapter 3 How To Properly Use A Pitch Gauge... As I mentioned several times on my web site, a pitch gauge is one of those must have tools you need to get. A good pitch gauge can be used for many different RC helicopters so it is generally a one time purchase that will last you for years. The easy part is purchasing a pitch gauge, the hard part is in understanding how to use them since most don’t come with instruction, or the instructions are very poor.

Chapter 2 Set up values and procedures... The great thing about all good quality collective pitch RC helicopters is how adaptable they are. This holds true for any size RC heli and most certainly for all good 400 size electric helicopters like the Blade 400 or T-Rex 450.

From scale to sport, trainer to 3D – one heli can do it all. The problem is most instructions are very vague in how this is achieved or simply don’t even make mention of this wonderful benefit. Worse yet, ready to fly (RTF) models like the Blade 400 are set up with high performance flight values and not beginner values. Why? You got me...

Bottom line... There is absolutely no reason that you can’t successfully learn on a higher performance machine and have a lot of fun doing it (so many of us have) if you have it set up properly. However, if you don’t tame this high performance bird down, you will almost certainly over control it and crash; perhaps even give up all together with the costs and frustrations involved in crash repairs.

Chapter 8 Performance Tips... If you upgrade the servos however, especially all 4 to stronger digitals, there is a very real risk the ESC will go into thermal shut down mode or worse burn out completely with the increased load put on the built in BEC and resulting heat that is generated. At that point, so many run out to get a higher powered ESC with built in BEC, but the best and less expensive solution...
